FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Optimist Club of Kutztown aids tsunami victimsDecember 2004 -- A recent fund raiser held by the Optimist Club of Kutztown was used to aid the tsunami victims of December 26th in Southeast Asia. Upon approval of the Board of Directors of the Club, the Club made provisions to donate 50% of ticket sales from a 50/50 raffle at their recent Comedy Night to the tsunami victims. Proceeds of the raffle reached $400. The Optimist Club then matched the money raised to bring the total to $800. On January 17th the Club heard a presentation from Gary Bond of Thrivent on how to double the $800 and decided to follow the advice given to them, bringing the total money raised to $1600.
