Saturday, February 5^th, saw the Optimist Club of Kutztown take home 7 awards for the 2003-2004 Optimist Club year. The awards were presented by Past Governor Dick Stewart of Hummelstown at the Pennsylvania Upper Delaware 2^nd Quarter Board meeting held at the Eden Resort Inn, Lancaster. Kutztown President Doug Sanders accepted the following awards on behalf of the Club. The Kutztown Club was one of 5 Clubs to receive ’Honor Club’ status. Past President Chuck Altenderfer garnered first place in the President’s Scrapbook judging. The Club was presented banner patches for their participation in the Childhood Cancer Campaign and for the donations made to Optimist International Foundation. The Foundation supports projects run by the Kutztown Club such as the Oratorical contest and the Essay contest by providing scholarships for District winners. Also receiving awards were Club Secretary Dale Grim and Club Treasurer Mike Wanner.
